The ellipse gear flowmeter is the positive-displacement flowmeter measuring the total liquid volume passing through the pipe. The meter is of the features of high measurement accuracy, and small influence from viscosity. None any direct pipe section shall be required in the front of meter. It can be widely used in the accumulative flow measurement of petroleum, chemical engineering, medicine and sanitation, and other high-vicious medium. Measurement principle Under the effect of fluid flowing, the pressure difference shall be formed at both sides of meter outlet. A pair of ellipse gears is rotating in the axis and the liquid full in the empty cylinder among the gears shall be drained along with the rotation. And the flow of fluid passing through the meter shall be calculated based on the rotation time of ellipse gear counted. It is assumed that the drainage volume after the ellipse gear rotating one turn as Q and the rotation time of ellipse gear within the unit time of N, the volume of liquid passing during this period shall be NQ.
