With resin as the main cementing agent, after being injected into the formation, the formation sand is consolidated into a sand barrier with certain strength and permeability under the formation temperature and the internal and external curing agent, so as to prevent the formation sand production.Resin cementing agents generally include: epoxy resin, phenolic resin, urea formaldehyde resin, furfuryl alcohol resin and their mixtures.

Technology Principle

ERFS-S low-damage resin sand-fixing agent is mainly composed of organic silicon, supplemented with furfural or furfuryl alcohol and other raw materials, and is a comprehensive resin developed through polymerization grafting compounding process. They are composed of linear, network and body-shaped molecules. The polymer compound of this kind of resin has strong adsorption. When the resin emulsion is injected into the formation, the resin fully adsorbs on the sand surface and binds the sand particles together, and the water in the emulsion exists in the pores among sand particles in the oil layer， which ensures that the consolidated body has a certain permeability.

Requirements of Selecting Well

1 Pre-treatment of oil wells with loose cementation and easy sand production.

2 The reservoir has strong liquid supply capacity, good permeability and less than 20% clay content .

3 Oil Wells with sand producing during operation or reworking due to sand production.

4 The crude oil viscosity is below 3000 mPa·s.

5 Applicable formation temperature: 50 ~ 100℃ (122-212℉).

Product application:

From June 2010 to October 2011, a total of 21 sand-producing Wells were applied in certain oilfield of sinopec, with 19 wells successful sand consolidation and 2 ineffective Wells, with a success rate of 90.5%.
