The oval gear flowmeter is a volumetric flowmeter measuring the total liquid flow in the pipeline, this instrument has a high measuring precision, with minor impact from liquid viscosity, and no straight pipe sections are required before the meter, it is widely used in measurement of accumulated flow of oil in petroleum, chemical industry and healthcare etc. as well as of media of high viscosity. Measurement principle Under the function of fluid flow, pressure difference is formed at inlet and outlet of the instrument, and one pair of oval gears keeps rotating on the axis, while the cavity between gears is filled with liquid, which is discharged with the rotation, and the flow of the liquid passing the instrument could be measured via measuring the number of revolutions of oval gear. Provided the volume discharged at one cycle rotated by oval gear is Q, in unit time, the number of revolutions of oval gear is N, then the volume of liquid passing by during this period of time is NQ.
